Professional Experience

Ms. Villanueva practices energy, regulatory, and public utility law. She advises electric generators, trade associations, cooperatives, and utilities in administrative litigation and on transactional matters. She brings a strong regional background to her legal work and has particular experience with local proceedings.

Prior to joining Sanger Law, Ms. Villanueva clerked as the Rate Clerk at Bonneville Power Administration for the BP-16 Rate Case, as a Transmission Law Clerk in Bonneville’s Office of General Counsel, and was a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Michael H. Simon in the U.S. District Court of Oregon for the District of Oregon. Ms. Villanueva also worked as the Docketing Manager at Marger Johnson & McCollom, an intellectual property law firm in Portland, Oregon before attending law school. 

Ms. Villanueva graduated from Lewis and Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon in 2015 with an Environmental Law certificate. She was Associate Editor of Environmental Law and a member of Earthrise Legal Clinic.  She received her Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, from University Central Missouri in 2001.

Ms. Villanueva enjoys being outside with friends and family as well as trying new things, including most recently: aerial yoga, fly fishing, and making a decent risotto.
